One thing I learned today: I miss writing. (More than a few sentences at a time, at least.)

One thing I'm grateful for: The happiness of those around me at a time when the season isn't kind to my own mood. I only hope my melancholy is not as contagious as their joy.

One thing I learned today: There are VERY few things in this world that make me feel as great as exercise.

One thing I'm grateful for: The November Project - had an AMAZING start to my Monday thanks to them today, and if anyone would like to join me on any Monday, Wednesday or Friday mornings going forward, let me know!

One thing I learned today: I am TIRED. Truly tired.

One thing I'm grateful for: Hope. And friends - always friends.

One thing I learned today: “Self-respect is a lonely emotion. It is the quietest dignity, that of valour and pride and competence. It will offer you nothing but the solemn nod that you did what was right, what was good. You will look in the mirror with fear and sadness and know that you were something remarkable. And you will feel the weakest form of better. You will feel empty and hopeless and scared, but you will feel better because self-respect isn’t just an emotion, it’s an aura. Self-respect doesn’t wrap you gently in warmth - it is a steel rod in your spine. It is height and pride and honor. It is better than being wrapped in warmth because it is warmth from the inside. It is the fire of dignity.” Reblogged from Date By Numbers, an amazing recent find.

One thing I'm grateful for: That, for all my ranting about how the Internet/electronic communication has changed the way we relate to one another, strangers on the Internet sometimes say profound and beautiful things.

One thing I learned today: Do not let yourself get cumulatively dehydrated.

One thing I'm grateful for: Prepared foods.

One thing I learned today: "People often confuse self-kindness with self-indulgence: that huge piece of pie is an indulgence, it's numbing -- it's not a kindness. Particularly if you know you'll feel a little sick after you eat it...Kindness is not just spineless and mushy. It's also awareness and resolve to follow through."

One thing I'm grateful for: At least a couple people in my life who understand this.
